ALL OF THIS SHOULD BE 100 PERCENT HUMAN WRITTEN, PLEASE UPLOAD PLAGIARISM AND AI REPORT
PART A
Develop a 2-3 page review of an EHR in which you identify EHR benefits, limitations, challenges, and applications. You will combine your experiences in the EHR Go activities with information from a case study.
In this course, you will have the opportunity to get your hands on an electronic health record (EHR)! The EHR is a systema group of elements working together to perform a function. HIM professionals need to be subject matter experts on the EHR’s various parts and how they are connected (Amatayakul, 2017).
Additionally, you will use your knowledge of the different systems to identify benefits, limitations, and challenges to using EHR. The textbook readings provide many benefits and hints at the limitations and challenges. Use your work in the EHR to help identify benefits and challenges.
Finally, you will compare how the benefits and challenges balance against each another. This involves the setting of goals for EHR use and strategic planning for the implementation of an EHR. Strategic planning includes setting priorities, such as deciding which applications are needed versus only desired. And, what should be the sequence of application implementation? The EHR Go activity will help you identify when applications are needed and which are nice to have.

PART B
- POWERPOINT WITH SPEAKER NOTES SO I CAN READ FOR THE AUDIO
- Create a video/audio slide presentation (1215 slides; 1015 minutes long) or create a poster with an audio presentation (1015 minutes long) for a HIM team of a healthcare organization that is considering upgrading its existing EHR or implementing a new one. Address in the presentation: SDLC, migration plans, and best practices for successful EHR implementations.
Workflow is a term used to describe the systematic organization of business processes so that each repetition of the processes reaches a desired result. In this assessment, you will study the workflow within an EHR and explore different tools that can be used for workflow and process mapping. There are many different workflow mapping tools available, each with advantages and disadvantages. Understanding when to use which tool to map a process or workflow is a valuable skill.Take a minute to think about this scenario:The hospital where you work spent more than $1 million dollars designing and developing an EHR system. However, hospital leadership decided not to train employees on the new system. Why? They were operating under the assumption that in our technology-oriented society, everyone knows how to use computers. Right? The first day the system went live, everyone relied on paper records. No one documented anything in the brand new, $1 million EHR system. What went wrong?HIM professionals can help their organizations find solutions to critical, expensive problems like these. Knowledge of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and skills in using this cycle can help to answer these questions. Remember that the EHR is a system. And like other information systems, it follows the six stages of the SDLC. These are:
- Identify need.
- Specify requirements.
- Design or acquire.
- Develop or Implement.
- Maintain.
- Monitor results.
In particular, HIM professionals’ focus on the SDLC’s design, implementation, and maintenance phases and how those phases interact can add tremendous value to a successful EHR implementation. For example, in the design phase, HIM professionals skilled in using different tools within the EHR for workflow and process mapping can help to ensure that the business processes are organized in a way that produces the organization’s desired results each and every time.Likewise, knowledgeable HIM professionals can offer value in the SDLC’s implementation phase by citing credible, authoritative evidence to show their organizations that successful EHR implementations expend resources on end user training. The people using the system need to learn how to use the system so it can help them do their jobs more effectively and efficiently. After all, whether or not an EHR implementation is successful depends on whether the people using the system want to make it work and know how to make it work.In addition, HIM professionals can help their organizations understand the importance of regular, ongoing maintenance of its EHR system. Just as regular, ongoing maintenance of a house can prevent costly repairs and a depreciation of value, the same holds true for an EHR system.

PART C
- Write an article (35 pages) for submission to the Journal of AHIMA on EHR standards. Incorporate information on data standard integration strategies and the importance of data modeling and data dictionaries.
What would happen if you were visiting another state or country and suddenly became ill? What if you had an accident, became unresponsive, and could not share your medical history with those treating you? How would the care provider obtain your medical history, such as allergies, current medications, or chronic illnesses? One of the EHR’s goals is interoperability, which allows various EHR systems to communicate with each other. With interoperability, no matter where you are, care providers will be able to obtain essential medical information about you. To make this a reality, standards must be in place. Standards are the rules, or guidelines, that direct the EHR’s structure and specify the terminology used in the EHR system. With interoperability comes one of the biggest concerns with the EHR: privacy and security. Privacy is an individual’s right to control the use of and access to his/her protected health information. Security refers to the measures used to ensure privacy. Security also ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability. In this third course assessment, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills related to EHR standards. As an HIM manager at Vila Health, one of the requirements of your yearly evaluation is to submit an article for publication to the Journal of AHIMA. This year you have selected EHR standards as your topic. In addition, you will be including in your article information on data standard integration strategies and the importance of data modeling and data dictionaries.
