Welcome to the second step of your organizational audit. The audit is your final project for the semester, but you are building it across the semester. Please note that you may not use AI on this, or any other assignment in this course. In all milestones, consider what you are learning in Business Issues in the Arts to inform your milestone.

Milestone 2: Human Resources

Part A: Staffing Overview

Research and describe the organizations human resources structure.

Identify Key Staff Roles

    • Executive leadership
    • Artistic leadership
    • Administrative staff (marketing, development, education, operations, etc.)

Part B: Hiring, Labor, and Workplace Practices

Using information available on the organizations website or public materials, respond to the following:

  • Are job opportunities, auditions, or internships publicly posted?
  • Does the organization describe its workplace culture, benefits, or professional development opportunities?
  • Are there references to unions, artist contracts, or labor standards?

Part C: ADEI in Human Resources

Answer the following:

  • Does the organization include equal opportunity, diversity, or inclusion language in job postings or HR-related materials?
  • Are there visible efforts to:
    • Diversify staff or leadership?
    • Support emerging artists or administrators from underrepresented backgrounds?
  • If information is limited:
    • What barriers might exist to transparency in HR practices?
