I. Assessment Instructions
As an experienced external change agent, you have been invited to provide support to an organisation of your choice as they are faced with the need to make internal organisational change due to one of the following:
The cost of living crisis
Transition to net-zero
Regional inequality
You are required to write a 2,500 word report which should include, but not be limited to:
An overview of the key issues and their implication or the organisation.
The required changes and end state
How the change will be implemented and evaluated
Anticipated outcomes/impact of your proposed change(s).
The support for individuals and groups within the organisation through the process.
The potential ethical challenges and how these will be dealt with
The organisation you select can be your current or previous employer or any other public, private or third-sector organisation which you are knowledgeable of. If you have not had experience working in the selected organisation, you may need to make some assumptions.
You may revise and resubmit your original submission for the module, taking into account the feedback you received. However, you may instead produce an entirely new report.
Your work should follow a report format similar in structure to below:

Assessment marking criteria

The School for Business and Society has a policy of accepting variations to the recommended word count of plus or minus 5%. This means that markers will mark your work up to the word count maximum plus 5% and then will stop marking. Anything that is written after the word limit plus 5% is reached will not be marked.
Where your word count is more than 5% below that specified, it is likely that this will result in a lack of analytical depth or relevant content, which will be reflected in the mark assigned.

V. Submitting work to Canvas
You will submit your assessment in the area of the module in Canvas.Before starting your assignment:

read the page called Sitting assignments in Canvas, which you can find in the Assessment Policies and Procedures unit of your module in Canvas.
This assessment requires you to anonymously upload your submission to Canvas. If you are submitting multiple files, you must upload all files simultaneously to ensure that they are marked as a single submission. If you want to resubmit one component of your work, you need to re-upload all other files at the same time: every submission must include all files required by the assessment brief.
You should allow at least 30 minutes before the deadline to upload your submission, as failure to upload your assessment file within the allotted time is not admissible as an exceptional circumstance.

VI. Marking procedures
This assessment will be marked anonymously by a member of the teaching staff based in the School for Business and Society. A sample of assessment submissions will be moderated by a second academic member of staff to ensure consistency and fairness across the module cohort. A sample of marking is also shared with the external examiner for this module who willreview and share feedback before module marks are finalised at the Board of Examiners meeting.
Stepped marking
This assessment will be marked using stepped marking. Stepped marking (also known as step-marking) is beingused as the standard form of markingin all departments in the Faculty of Social Sciences for qualitative assessments.
