Self as Other: Reflections on Self-Care,Links to an external site. (https://cdn.crimethinc.com/pdfs/self-as-other_for-screen.pdf) a zine by Corina Dross. The zine is 40-pages total but only 24 of those are straight-up reading. Don’t stress.
Choice 2 – FORMAL ESSAY: The question the thesis of this essay will answer is the same as for Choice 1: Where must one go in Los Angeles to best experience its authentic feeling? You’ll develop what you’ve begun in the Informal Essay into a 3-4 page formal essay (according to MLA guidelines, so, a Works Cited page will be in addition to the 3-4 pages) by connecting the authentic feeling that is the focus of your Informal Essay (Ive attached) with a particular place in Los Angeles. You’ll need my notes to your Informal Essay and will be expected to pay strict attention to those as well as my posts to the Writing Tips discussion board and all of the other materials shared in the course related to formal writing. If you are thinking that this doesn’t sound very Project/Presentation-like, you are right! I’m including the option for those who are particularly focused on developing their formal-essay writing skills and/or particularly nervous about improving their writing for the final/research paper and/or not super into creating work outside of the essay form.
One of the 3-5 required sources used for this assignment must be a text included in our course, with significant references to that text included in the essay, for Choice 2.
