English Question

The Essay 3 guidelines are:

For 100 points, please submit your third essay for this course. Your essay should focus on proving how your chosen song is poetry. To do this you will, select a song or songs with lyrics that you feel qualify as poetry. Use what you have read about the nature of poetry to explain why these lyrics are poems. So, in other words. your essay should be arguing how/why your song lyrics qualify as poetry. Then, find three elements of poetry present in your lyrics that best prove how/why your song lyrics qualify as poetry. Utilize the elements of poetry resource in our Unit 3 Resources Folder to find out what elements qualify as poetic elements. You will be expected to write in MLA format, with a clear thesis, and evidence-based argumentation from your lyrics and outside sources. This means you will have three or so points (three elements of poetry) (one point or focus per paragraph) that back up your thesis. You will write a standard 5 paragraph essay (formatting like your Unit 1 essay) that is no fewer than 700 words. You’ll use 3-4 sources in this essay (1 as your song choice, and 2 to 3 outside sources that help you prove your lyrics are poetry).
