Archives reveal power through specific cases. This week, focus on case studies from readings, no outside examples needed.
Your Task: Write a 650-word essay that:
-Analyze 4 case studies from 3 or more readings:
Yale: Venetian indexes OR Colbert’s system OR Guatemala archives
Jimerson: Marshall papers
Jolly: Wills’ Turnstile OR Ferran’s psychiatric photos OR King-Smith revenants
Mller: Eickstedt collection
Rose: Lutz/Collins National Geographic
For each:
-Key facts (what happened, who/what involved)
-Archival issue (ordering, access, ethics, art)
-Vocab term + page citation
Pattern: What common theme connects them? (e.g., “access as power,” “colonial silencing,” “digital disruption”)
Requirements:
4+ vocab terms (term + page + explanation)
-Direct quotes/citations from readings throughout
Thesis: “Case studies from [authors] reveal [theme] in archives because…”
