You learned in the reading that persuasion is defined as: the process of creating, reinforcing, or changing peoples beliefs or actions. You also learned that a lot goes into persuasion and that a speaker has to consider ethics, psychology, values, policy, facts, and much more.
For this weeks discussion, describe in your own words what questions of policy are. This would be a good part to share information from the textbook to reinforce what you are writing. Then, share at least two (2) persuasive topics that fit this category. Then, share which type of order or organization of main points you would use if you were giving this speech. Defend why you would choose this order and why it is best.
Hey Everybody!
The discussion this week is a little complex. It will require you to draw on what you have been learning in the course. Take time to review the instructions so that you give a complete answer.
For a persuasive speech topic to be a true question of policy, it must pass a three-part litmus test: 1) theres a need; 2) theres a viable plan; and 3) executing the plan is practical.
You are encouraged but not required to cite a direct quote from textbook with the appropriate citation and reference. All other material from the textbook may be paraphrased with the appropriate citation and reference. See APA Basics posted in the Jan 5th course announcement for the correct way to write the textbook in APA style.
