W2 – Gods Relationship with Israel

Purpose: The students will demonstrate an understanding of the covenant relationship between God and Israel.

Instructions: Pemberton explains that the Lord is in a relationship with Israel. It is not obedience to the commandments that make Israel the people of God. Their obedience is an expression of gratitude for what God has already done. For this assignment, you are going to create one page infographic. You will work through the Ten Commandments identifying the principle behind the commandment. In the infographic, include the following for each commandment:

  • State the commandment.
  • Give an explanation of the principle behind the commandment. (Use Chapter five in Pembertons work to help with this task).

After completing the portion on the Ten Commandments, create two boxes that explain the two common misunderstandings of the law of talion (see Pemberton p. 97).

Make sure that your final submission is one page, free from typographical and grammatical errors and that it is aesthetically pleasing and easy to understand. It needs to stand alone without the need of outside explanation.
