U.S. Economy following the Pandemic The U.S. economy is starting to find its way through the economic turmoil caused by the pandemic. Government policy was very active with both monetary policy and fiscal policy attempting to keep the economy moving during the pandemic. We are starting to see some of the effects of those policies. Analyze the effects of monetary and fiscal policies employed during the pandemic. For this project, you will write a paper including the following: A description of the tradeoffs faced during the pandemic. A brief explanation, using the definition of GDP, of why GDP fell so dramatically at the beginning of the pandemic and bounced back rather quickly. A description of the difference between financial assets and real assets and how that difference is particularly important when considering policy treatments during the pandemic. An analysis of crowding out as a result of government fiscal policy during the pandemic. An analysis of money creation during the early stages of the pandemic. A discussion of how rational expectations can mute the effects of government policy. A discussion of how isolation during the pandemic can negatively affect some countries more than others. An analysis of how the pandemic affected exchange rates. Your paper should be 5-6 pages in length and conform to APA guidelines in the CSU Global Writing Center (available in the left-hand navigation panel).
