The British Invasion and Its Success
From the following clip discuss what you elements made the early Beatles so successful in 1964. What was unique about their sound and style? What seems similar to other artists? I’m interested in your impressions based on what you hear and see, not just what I discussed in the lecture videos and notes.

In their song “I Want To Hold Your Hand”, The Beatles have a unique style. I would say that it is interesting in the way of them having all different movements while playing guitars in the front than in the end they all are doing the same move as one another. Another unique thing to this song by them is in the way it is still heard in the modern day, I hear this song in advertisement and radio stations all the time. All of them had a matching style through the suits the wore to the similar cuts of the hair. Like many of songs coming around during this period they have the style of pop with rock mixed inside of it.

From watching and listening to the early Beatles, you could definitely see why they were so big back in 1964, because their music is so catchy, and definitely how energetic they are makes them really out there and different from a lot of artists back in the 60s. also they weren’t as controversial as other big stars like Elvis Presley. Another big reason why I think they were so popular was because of their outfits, and just the way they made themselves appear definitely played a huge part as well

Watching the early Beatles clip, I feel like a big part of why they were so successful in 1964 was their energy and vibe. They just looked like they were having fun. Their harmonies were super catchy and which made the songs stick in your head right away. I also think their matching outfits and hair made them stand out because they had a clear image that was different from older, more polished performers.
