Statistics Question

Then write a paper where you expand on the issues addressed on this article.

The paper is to be analytical, with an emphasis on integrating the article above and outside sources consulted as described on Sections II-III below. These should be integrated into a cogent discussion on some relevant issue that can be theoretically addressed using the theories on the textbook (a criminal/juvenile justice problem). As you read the course weekly content, take notes as this will become the foundation to write your paper (using both the article and course content). As you write you must give credit to the sources usedfor example course content textbook, power point slide number, outside sources read. Make sure you cite the works consulted using APA Style). Your paper (the body of your paper) must clearly be divided into the Four Sections described below. These will be the basis of the grading.

Your paper must have 4 Sections. NOTE: Your paper must have each of the sections listed; that is the body of your paper must clearly identify these heading for each of these four sections. Also note that it will be ok to create subheadings within each of these sections.

Section I. Introduction. On this 1-page Introduction, you will clearly identify and discuss at least two issues discussed on the article. Citation of works consulted required.

Section II: Content of your paper: On section II you will expand on the two issues identified on Section I. To expand on the issues, you will read academic articles that identify why those two issues are problematic/worth studying discussing in juvenile justice. This Section must be 2 pages long. The rule of thumb is that you should read at least three articles that explain, discuss, analyze, present data that will support why those two issues are important to discuss in the juvenile justice discipline, or the juvenile justice system. Using at least three articles will help you identify at least two reasons why it is important to the discipline and or the system of justice. Citation of works consulted required. Some professional journals are listed (scroll down, these are listed before the Student Support and Success section).

Section III: Theory. Using the juvenile/criminal justice journals used on Section II, identify and discuss two theories that have been used to explain the two issues identified on Section I. This section must be 2 pages long. While there might be many theories used to explain the issues selected on Section I, you should look for the consensus in the explanations/theories offered (it should be one of the theories on the textbook); then link the theoretical assumptions and the problem as you have described it on Sections I & II above. Citation of works consulted required.

Section IV: Conclusion: here you will offer a summary of section I, II, III and then make at least two recommendations for policy and practice. For example, a new policy or law to make a difference in the future as it relates to the problem identified on section I and II. Include any a conclusion on the theories selected for example which is the best explanation. This section should be 1 page long.

Last, Reference Page, REQUIRED but not counted on page length requirement (by the way neither is the title page counted). As you know, a Reference page lists the sources you consulted to write your paper. In writing your References, use APA Style. APA Style stands for American Psychological Association Manual Writing Guidelines which are most comprehensively covered in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 7th or 8th Ed., although condensed and simplified versions of the APA formatting a referencing requirement may be found on-line and in other writing manuals.

The paper must be a minimum of 6 pages in length (excludes references).

The paper is to be analytical, with an emphasis on integrating the readings and outside sources into a cogent discussion on some relevant issue that can be theoretically addressed using the theories on the textbook (a criminal/juvenile justice problem).

Your paper must clearly be divided into the above described Four Sections. These will be the basis of the grading.

Students who want my feedback on paper sections are welcome to email each section as it is completed; feedback is not graded. Feedback will not be offered the last week of class or on the whole paper.

Completed papers must be uploaded to Turnitin by the deadline stated on the Class Topic section below.
