I need a statement of purpose for admission to the UNC-Chapel Hill social work program. I currently have a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Fayetteville State and a master’s in developmental psychology from Walden. I am an Eceptional Children teacher assistant

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work seeks students who have diverse experiences that will enrich the classroom environment and whose post-graduation practices will represent an array of skills and interests. The statement of purpose reflects who you are, a clear picture of your goals as a future social worker, and why you are seeking admission to the Master of Social Work program at UNC. Please treat this as a professional writing sample.

Your statement of purpose should be in essay format utilizing the three headings below. The statement should be a minimum of 3 pages and a maximum of 4 double spaced pages in 12-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins. Please include responses to all the following prompts in your essay:

Social Work Practice Interests

• Why are you choosing to pursue a masters degree in social work? What are the social issues and populations you are seeking to work with?

Volunteer and Professional Social Work Interest

• Tell us about how your volunteer and/or professional experiences have affirmed this passion for social work. Discuss the ways these experiences align with social work values and how theyve prepared you to become a leader in the field.

Pursuing an MSW at UNC Chapel Hill

• What does UNC-CH offer that will help you reach your career goals? How will you use your MSW to advance equity, transform systems, and improve lives?
• If you are a dual degree applicant, please explain how you plan to use each degree/training to address the social issues and populations you identified above.
