Servant Leadership Reflection

After learning about the principles of servant leadership and viewing the accompanying TED Talk, write a two-page reflective essay addressing the prompts below. Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful analysis, personal insight, and integration of course concepts.

Your essay should address the following questions:

1. Both nursing and medicine are service-oriented professions. Do you believe there are inherent differences in service inclination between individuals who choose nursing versus medicine as a profession?
2. Do you believe that nursing education fosters a greater service inclination than medical education? Explain your reasoning.
3. Considering that the majority of the nursing profession identifies as female, do you believe this influences nursings propensity to be service-oriented? Why or why not?
