Scholarly written assignment guidelines: Medium Selection and Description Choose a creative medium that depicts advance care planning in the context of chronic, progressive illness. This can be a television show, movie, painting, poem, song, novel, or other form of creative expression. Provide a brief description of the creative work chosen. The medium chosen must be attached to the document (as an Appendix) as a pdf, link, or photograph. Scholarly Analysis Discuss your rationale for selecting this specific creative work using two peer-reviewed journal articles to support your discussion (approximately 2 pages). How does this medium meaningfully depict advance care planning in the context of chronic, progressive illness? Please note that websites and class slides are not permitted. Discuss what this learning means to you as a developing nurse (approximately 1 page). Include, as an attachment, the two peer-reviewed articles used to support your discussion, with mark- ups to demonstrate active engagement with the text. This may include highlighting important text, notes made in the columns, underlining, etc. Formatting: This paper should be 3-4 typewritten pages (double-spaced) o Title page (this does not count in the page limit), title, brief introduction, body of paper (use headings as necessary), and a brief conclusion o The use of two (2) references to support the discussion is required: References need to be peer-reviewed journal articles. Websites and class slides are not permitted. Nursing literature needs to be retrieved using CINAHL or PubMED. Ensure that the discussion is adequately and appropriately supported. Peer-reviewed articles that have been part of this course can be used for additional support and enhancement of ideas but will not count towards the required two references. References should be from within the last 10 years and as current as available. 2 o Include a reference list at the end of your paper (this does not count in the 4-page limit). Please remember to reference your medium as outlined in APA Publication Manual (7th edition), Section 10 (Audiovisual Media). o Use correct APA format (7th ed.) for font style and size, page numbers, headings, reference list, in-text citations, and reference list. o Do not use any direct quotes in this paper. All ideas gathered from scholarly literature need to be paraphrased in your own words. See APA 8.23 and 8.24 for further directions on how to do this. o Correct grammar and spelling are expected.
