Research Review Assignment

Instructions: Each student will select one peer-reviewed empirical article published within the last 5 years and write a 23 page review. The review must summarize the study and include a discussion of its findings. Requirements 23 full pages (standard formatting: 12pt font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins) Content: Summary of the study Key findings Discussion of implications Presentation: Students will be randomly selected to give a 3-minute explanation of their article in class. Plagiarism Policy: Any plagiarism will result in zero credit and may trigger an academic honesty review. Recommended Journals (also available via Pius Library) Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory & Cognition Personality and Individual Differences Developmental Psychology Journal of Personality and Social Psychology Feel free to choose any other journals. Choose Your Article Find a recent empirical study from one of the recommended journals. Make sure its published within the last 5 years and is peer-reviewed. 2. Read Actively PSY2050 Fall 2025 Focus on the abstract, introduction, methods, results, and discussion sections. Take notes on the research question, hypotheses, sample, methods, findings, and implications. 3. Write Your Review Include a cover page Briefly introduce the topic and article. Describe the studys purpose, methods, and key findings. Reflect on the implications of the findings, how they relate to course concepts, and any limitations. Wrap up with your overall impression and relevance to psychology. Do not forget to cite and add the reference list (even though it could be the article itself alone). Prepare for Class Presentation Be ready to explain your article in 3 minutes. Focus on the main idea and findings.
