:My research paper will explore how situationships affect mental health, especially among young adults navigating modern dating culture. Romantic relationships without clear labels or commitment have become increasingly common in today’s generation, but they often create confusion, insecurity, and emotional stress. I want to examine how these unclear dynamics impact self-esteem, anxiety, and peoples understanding of healthy relationships.

To support my research, I plan to interview a mental health professional or relationship expert, as well as college students who have experienced situationships themselves. These interviews will help provide real-life perspectives on why situationships are so common today and how they affect people emotionally. The goal of this paper is to better understand how modern dating culture can influence mental well-being and why clearer communication and boundaries in relationships may be important for mental health.
