Part 2: Reflective-Rhetorical Analysis of Your Remix

Objective: Write a 750- to 1000-word essay reflecting on your remix and analyzing the rhetorical choices you made throughout the process. This essay is an opportunity to consider how creative adaptation affects meaning and reception.

Essay Prompt:

1. Reflect on the Remix Process

Describe your remix project and initial goals. Why did you choose this particular medium or genre? Discuss any challenges you encountered in transforming your research, and explain how you addressed these obstacles to create a coherent and impactful project.

2. Analyze the Rhetorical Choices

Discuss how the medium influenced your approach to audience, purpose, and message. Address the following elements:

Audience: Who is your intended audience for the remix? How did this audience shape the tone, style, and format of your project?

Purpose: What was your main objective in creating this remix? How did your chosen format enable you to highlight or reinterpret parts of your research?

Genre Conventions: Explain how you adapted to the conventions of your chosen format (e.g., visuals in an infographic, conversational tone in a podcast). How did these conventions help or limit you in conveying your message?

3. Reflect on the Final Product

Conclude by reflecting on the effectiveness of your remix. How well does it communicate your original research? What insights did you gain about your topicor about composition itselfthrough this process?

Guidelines:

Citation: If your remix includes external sources or borrowed media, provide proper attribution. For the essay, include in-text citations and a Works Cited or References page (MLA or APA).

Originality: This project should be your original work, with no more than 20% similarity reported on Turnitin.
