(Final Paper) (10 pages of PURE CONTENT-NOT INCLUDING TITLE AND REFERENCE PAGE) (APA citations) (in text citations are a must) (No plagiarism)
(Use the annotated bibliography attached for references)
Title of Paper: r
Through this paper, you will demonstrate your ability:
- to perform research,
- to draw conclusions from the course materials and your research findings,
- to write effectively, and
- to practice the modes of analysis and lines of questioning that you learned in class.
Options
Select one of the following three options for your paper.
Option 1: Art and Artifact
Select a work of art or a cultural artifact that expresses the mythology of its culture. You will find thousands of possibilities on museum websites, as many are developing or enhancing their digital collections. For example:
- allows you to walk through museums and has great curated collections
In your paper, include at least one image of the artwork you chose but dont count the image toward your page count! (See Requirements below.)
Your assignment is to spend no more than 2-pg summarizing the myth that this artwork or artifact engages, and then using the remaining 8 pages to analyze the art and story using some of the approaches and lines of inquiry we discussed in class. It will be helpful to choose a theme: the portrayal of the Hero and/or Trickster, the virtues or vices that underlie the story and how the artist conveys them, the artists use of symbols to tell the story without words, etc. Let your artwork/artifact of choice be your guide.
