Be sure your presentation provides information on how to conduct a more systemic, ecological assessment related to child abuse and neglect. Your presentation needs to include the following:
- Discuss risk factors for child abuse/neglect.
- Review the signs of child abuse/neglect.
- Explain how to assess the effects of child abuse/neglect on the individual and family.
- Indicate what questions to ask for determining what type of treatment (individual or family therapy) is most appropriate for the child and parent(s).
- Discuss cultural factors to consider when assessing child abuse/neglect.
- Include steps for reporting suspected abuse or neglect in your state/ local area. You will need to do additional research to gather this information. An internet search for mandated reporter steps in your state will locate this information. However, if you cannot find it, reach out to your instructor for assistance.
Length: 12-16 slides, not including title or reference slides with either audio recording or transcript of your speaker notes in the slide notes (100-150 words per speaker note).
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources.
