Professional Identity Letter

Write a letter that details who you are as a professional. Your letter should be no more than 350 words and fit on one page.

The letter should include the following:

Introduce who you are and your educational & professional experience.

Identifying the impact you wish to have in your professional practice

Describe how you plan to treat your clients

Describe how you want to interact with other members of your profession, including potential colleagues.

Explain how you want to incorporate social work core values (cite wording directly from the NASW Code of Ethics) into your professional identity. Do not cite APA in this letter.

The letter should also identify what type of reputation you want to create in the professional social work world.

How do you want your clients to know you?

How do you want your colleagues to know you?

How do you want general members of the social work profession to know you?

Things to consider

It must be in a Microsoft Word document – NO PDFs.

The letter should be titled/addressed “To whom this may concern.”

No in-text citations should be included in this letter.
