Payroll cycle and onboarding process

Overview Its important to be able to demonstrate how accounting information systems work. For this assignment, you will learn about the payroll cycle and create a flowchart of the process. This assignment is Milestone One. Then, in Project One you will make adjustments to your flowchart based on instructor feedback and include it as part of your Project One assignment. Scenario You have recently been hired as a business analyst for the chief financial officer (CFO) of a small direct-to-consumer organization. The company is growing and is looking for ways to gain efficiency by automating some processes. The CFO has asked you to perform an analysis of the current payroll onboarding function within the organization. Through this analysis of current onboarding functions, you will determine the benefits and drawbacks of how employee information might flow through an accounting information system and how using an AIS will improve the onboarding process. Directions You have been provided with elements of a payroll accounting cycle. Illustrate how the process works using flowchart guidelines provided in the Supporting Materials section. Submit an accounting process flowchart illustration. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria: Label Steps: Label each step in the process.
