Scenario
You have just completed your MPH practicum tenure. You are now tasked with disseminating the information that you learned from the practicum site. The information must be shared with the university, the agency sponsoring the practicum, the practicum faculty member, and future MPH students.
Instructions
Part One Presentation
Develop a voiceover presentation (slides, speaker’s notes, and recording link) that:
- Provides an overview of your practicum, including goals and objectives.
- Describes in detail with examples – what you worked on during your practicum, including the following information:
- Which social and behavioral constructs did you use to enhance community engagement and/or research to improve public health? If you did not use any social/behavioral constructs, discuss which social and behavioral constructs you would recommend enhancing community engagement and/or research to improve public health.
- How did you compile data to ensure the inclusion of culturally sensitive variables? If you did not collect data, discuss how you propose compiling data to ensure the inclusion of culturally sensitive variables.
- How did you analyze outcome data for enhanced decision making to improve public health? If you did not analyze outcome data, discuss how you propose analyzing outcome data for enhanced decision making to improve public health.
- Analyzes the influence of policy on public health program(s) addressed during the practicum.
- How would you communicate practicum findings to stakeholders? Provide examples.
- Discuss the MPH core competency skills gained during the practicum with examples.
- Meets all scholarly expectations, including purpose, style, format, and audience.
Part Two Email
Create an email for incoming MPH students that:
- Discusses your overall practicum experience, including strengths of the practicum, limitations of the practicum experience (time, location, goals), and opportunities for improvement.
- Reminder: You can use some of the information from your SWOT analysis here.
- Provides recommendations for their success in the MPH program.
