See all of the pictures, maps, graphs, paintings, drawings, cartoons perhaps, that are within chapters 22 through 26 of the textbook. Select five of those to base your paper on. Select one image from each of the five chapters 22 through 26. Summarize your chosen images and the information that is covered. Then, most importantly, provide your analysis as to whether the specific images are historically valuable in helping to understand the past and history in general. Are they historically worthy? Are they biased? What can one learn about history from these chosen images? Can these images be connected to other information gained in this Module? Have an introduction paragraph listing your chosen images by title or figure number and list which chapter it is from (List and discuss them in order starting with the chapter 22 image you selected, then chapters 23, 24, 25, and 26.) and then list the page number the image is located on. Explaining the purpose of your paper in summarizing and analyzing these images. Summarize the first chosen image, list its title, chapter, and page number again, and then and provide your analysis of the image. Repeat that procedure for your next four chosen images. Have a conclusion paragraph listing your chosen images by title again, chapter it came from, and the page numbers for each image one last time, and provide final thoughts on all five images and your thoughts on the investigation in general. You should end up having approximately four to five pages or so of writing. More than five pages is fine, but not less than four. Use double spacing, twelve-point font, one inch margins and other proper structuring when doing this assignment. The paper is worth 200 points (20% of the overall grade). The due date for the Image analysis paper will be listed in class. Papers submitted after the due date will have thirty points deducted before grading begins. After 48 hours past the due date papers will not be accepted. To Submit Your Project There is an area to submit under the Evaluations tab and then Assignment Drop box titled ‘Module 2 paper.’ All papers need to be submitted into this drop box and note Turnitin, which also detects artificial intelligence (AI) percentages Paper that have high Turnitin scores or that are created by artificial intelligence will not be accepted and resubmissions will not be allowed. This project will help you learn the fundamental methods of research used in history and will assist you in learning to analyze and critically evaluate what you find, as well as connecting the past with the present.
