be typed and emailed to me on their due date. Please use Blackboard Dropbox to submit your
exam, make sure you have all answers under one file, do not send multiple files, combine all

According to Dewey, there is a progressive form of experience educators should cultivate
that re-evaluates our approach to past-present-future. Explain Deweys idea of
progressivism while reflecting on the possibilities as well as challenges of his view.
Question whether our current educational models reflect Deweyian models or not?
2.
From a Marxist perspective, schools reproduce a social structure that is merely a
reflection of relations of production and that our curriculum, school structures have all
being co-opted by the value we place on capital. Considering teaching and learning
today, do you agree?

What are some of Lockes views on education? How does Freires critique of the
banking model of education or Deweys criticism of traditional education directly
challenge Locke? Do you agree or disagree with their critique?

Rousseau and Dewey seem to have similar foundational views on learners and education,
explore what those similarities are as well as potential differences in their approach.

Traditional education works well for students who come from privileged opportunity
structures. However, as Freire and Dewey would argue, traditional education is not
democratic. Describe traditional education and how it may work well for some and reflect
on it excludes others and becomes undemocratic.

means to create democratic social justice education. Explore possible connections of
Freires ideas to Rousseau or Dewey.

10. Considering different views we have encountered, explore what the role and purpose of
education is. What would be a suitable settings for learning that are meaningful and
