Metabolism: Aerobic Respiration and Fermentation

You will investigate the metabolic processes of aerobic respiration and fermentation. In aerobic respiration (ex. animals

and plants, and some bacteria* refer to lecture recording), glucose is completely broken down while on the other hand,

the process of fermentation, glucose is incompletely broken down (many bacteria and yeasts). Did you notice from the

recording which process yields a greater amount of ATP? ATP molecules are necessary to cellular metabolism because

they supply energy whenever a cell carries on activities.
