MENTAL HEALTH DISORDER PAPER

Select and research a mental health disorder that you would like to learn more about. Use a minimum of 5 current, peer reviewed professional scholarly American research sources about the mental health disorder you selected. Using what you learned from the resources synthesize the findings and describe the needs of the student population you selected. The paper should include a description of the typical needs of students with this mental health disorder/disability, instructional activities appropriate in a whole class context (UDL foundation), and appropriate interventions. What can general and special education teachers do to meet the needs of students with this area of disability and mental health disorder? Discuss characteristics you would observe when working with young students, middle school students and students at the high school levels with this disorder. Are there similarities and/or differences at the different age levels? What are some of the specific behaviors you would observe in each of the three age groups? The paper should address the implications of the findings for the field of education, both for the general education teachers and the special education teachers.
