Business Administration is an applied degree, meaning it examines a specific problem in the business environment. As a scholar-practitioner this problem will most likely emerge from your professional life and experience. You may also choose to approach your topic from a completely new perspective. This topic may be in an area you wish to grow into or pivot towards. Either way, you must define your area of interest and the specific topic within that realm.
This week’s lecture discussed the importance of understanding what motivates you to pursue this degree; what is your why. This assignment asks you to begin by reflecting on your why and then connect that to several possible areas of interest that you might investigate in the coming months as you prepare for your dissertation.
Your paper should include the following:
- An introduction that prepares the reader for the content of the paper (Not to exceed 1 page).
- A self-reflection section focused on your why (1 -2 pages).
- Three possible areas of interest that you might investigate as you prepare for your dissertation (3-5 pages).
- A conclusion that briefly reviews the content of your paper and wraps up any final points (Not to exceed 1 page).
Length: 6 to 8 pages (approximately 250 words per page), not including title and reference pages.
References: Include 3 scholarly resources.
