Many drugs have names that might sound like other drugs. This could cause confusion for the patient or provider and could lead to serious medical errors. Review the resources on this topic. Find a commonly known medication that has a look-alike, sound-alike name with another different medication. Create an infographic with the following information: Names of both drugs (generic and trade names) What is the primary indication (use) for each of the drugs? What are the typical dosage range, dosing schedule, and route for each drug? What are the most common side effects of each drug? What are the most serious (dangerous) side effects? How could you use the tall man lettering to help patients/staff who administer the medication distinguish between the 2 drugs? What other ideas might you use to prevent errors from receiving the wrong drug (for patients and/or providers)? Upload your infographic to this assignment link.
