MY BIO/REASONING: I chose to pursue a career in the criminal justice field because service has been a guiding principle in my life since childhood. It was one of my greatest honors to serve my country in the United States Army from 2003 to 2017 as a Combat Infantryman, completing six combat deploymentsthree to Iraq and three to Afghanistan.
After transitioning from active duty, I continued my commitment to service by working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where I assisted fellow veterans in filing disability claims and navigating the VA benefits process. Supporting those who had also served our nation was deeply meaningful to me. During that time, a fellow veteran encouraged me to pursue a career in law enforcement, recognizing that my experience, discipline, and dedication to service would translate well into the profession.
I subsequently entered law enforcement and have now served for six years. I hold a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and remain committed to continued professional and academic growth.
Having had the privilege to serve my country, support my fellow veterans, and now protect and serve my community as a police officer, I view this profession as more than a careerit is a continuation of my lifelong dedication to serving others. My aspirations within the criminal justice field include advancing into leadership roles where I can mentor fellow officers, promote accountability and professionalism, and strengthen trust between law enforcement and the communities we serve. Ultimately, I seek to lead with integrity, uphold the highest ethical standards, and make a lasting, positive impact on the profession and those it serves.
