I need a literature review for my PsyD program in applied clinical psychology to see if my dissertation topic will be accepted. My topic is how has the current political climate affected clinicians and service delivery. It is due by the end of the month. Welcome to the Applied Clinical Psychology Dissertation II: Literature Review course! The focus of this course is to write a literature review which will ultimately become Chapter 2 of your dissertation. The literature review is the starting point as it gives the researcher current knowledge about the topic they are about to investigate. Throughout this semester keep in mind that you will mainly work with peer-reviewed articles that are no more than 5 to 7 years old. If you find articles that are relevant to your topic that are older, there will be a place for them, but they should only be included if they are seminal or foundational works. Please pace yourself as by the end of the semester you will have read and analyzed at least 30 peer reviewed articles noting their significance to the literature that is already published about your topic or areas associated with your topic. Below are the basic steps you will follow: The first step in writing a literature review is to identify the research topic that the review will address: This will help to focus the search for literature and ensure that the review is relevant and useful. Conduct a thorough search of the pertinent literature. This could entail looking up relevant information in databases, journals, and other sources. Analyze the literature: After locating the literature, it is essential to determine its importance and applicability. This can include assessing the methodology of the study, the accuracy of its conclusions, and its overall quality. Organize the literature: After the material has been assessed, it is crucial to arrange it in a clear and logical manner. The literature may then be arranged either chronologically or according to themes or topics. After the literature has been sorted, it is necessary to examine it to determine the major conclusions, topics, and patterns. This could involve compiling the main discoveries and conclusions from the literature into a narrative. Actually writing the literature review is the last step. With an emphasis on the main findings and conclusions of the review, this should be done in a clear and succinct manner. Citations to all pertinent sources of information should be included, and the literature review should be organized in a clear and understandable manner. Most importantly remember that it is not a summary of articles, however it is an analysis or the information you learned from the articles using the articles to support your narrative.
