For this assignment, you will write a historical review of a disorder of childhood (see pp. 3599 of your DSM-5-TR). The disorder you choose must be one of the neurodevelopment disorders discussed in this module.

You will review how the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of your chosen disorder has changed over time. Be sure to address the following questions in your paper:

What changes have been made to the disorder, as published in previous and current versions of the DSM? Focus on changes for diagnostic symptoms in your paper. What was added, deleted, or modified?

What assessment tools have been utilized for this disorder, and what changes have been made to assessment for this disorder over time? What is the current gold standard for assessment of this disorder?

What therapeutic interventions have been used to treat this disorder, and what changes have been over time in terms of treatment options? What is the current gold standard for treatment of this disorder?

Your paper should be formatted in APA 7th edition and must be a minimum of 5 pages in length, not including the title and reference pages. No abstract is required for this assignment. You should have at least 5 peer-reviewed references. Your DSM-5-TR can be a starting point for your research but cannot be used as the sole resource for your paper.
