- Analyze whether healthcare should be considered a moral right.

Essay Requirements:
- Word Count: Your essay must be between 1,8002,250 words.
- Formatting & Citation: Follow MLA guidelines, including proper in-text citations and a works cited page. The only deviation from MLA formatting is that you should not include your name in the essay heading or file name to support anonymous grading.

Instructions for Writing Your Essay:
- Select a Topic: Select one of the six topics below. Each topic requires you to analyze key arguments and develop your own position.
- Understand the Argument: Begin by explaining the relevant argument or philosophical concept. For example, if discussing Singers argument for animal rights, identify its premises (supporting reasons) and conclusion. Outline the philosophers reasoning in detail before presenting your own view.
- State Your Thesis: Your thesis statement should clearly answer the main question of the prompt and appear in the introduction of your essay. For instance:
- Kantian ethics provides a more robust foundation for moral reasoning than natural law theory because it does not depend on controversial assumptions about human nature or teleology, and it offers clear principles for evaluating moral actions through the categorical imperative.
- Develop Your Argument:
- Support your thesis with logical reasoning, evidence, and examples.
- Use at least two sources in addition to the textbook, citing them properly in MLA format.
- Engage with Counterarguments:
- Address objections or alternative viewpoints.
- Explain why your position is stronger or more plausible.
- Conclude Thoughtfully: Reflect on the broader implications of your argument. Avoid simply repeating your thesis; instead, consider what your analysis reveals about the topic.
- Organize Your Paper:
- Introduction: Clearly state your thesis and briefly outline your essay structure.
- Body Paragraphs: Develop your argument step by step, with each paragraph focusing on one main idea.
- Conclusion: Summarize your argument and reflect on its significance.
Not permitted:
- Using AI to write sentences, paragraphs, or the essay itself.
- Asking AI to rewrite or rephrase your draft.
- Copying AI-generated content into your essay as if it were your own.
AI Statement Requirement:
At the end of your essay, you must include a short AI statement in a separate section labeled AI Use Statement. Even if you did not use AI, you should write: I did not use AI for this assignment.
