Activities/Work Assignment
Acquire and distribute food to student with Food Insecurities
Participate in organized Fresh Food Pop up programs to college community members on the final week of February, March and April
Assist with implementation of Giant/Martin’s online well-being workshops at the college.
For my first community service experience, I volunteered at the Delaware County Community College fresh food pop-up event. The fresh fruits and vegetables we distributed were generously donated by the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market and requested through Sharing Excess, a local NGO. Sharing Excess does incredible work acquiring fresh produce on behalf of various community pillars, including the Salvation Army, Delaware County Community College, the Community College of Philadelphia, and several churches throughout Pennsylvania.
