Global Business Plan Guideline – Company I would like to use is BMW – Home country – Germany, Host Country – China

Global business plan has multiple components surrounding a host and home country’s political, legal, and economic environments and the firm’s international strategies. To help you better understand how to write a global business plan in this course, I will provide details regarding how to write these components as well as sample reports. Please download the following documents and you will find details about each component and a sample report.

Here are the instructions about the global business plan written in the syllabus.

The purpose of this assignment is to apply the tools and knowledge you have gained in this class to analyze a multinational enterprise, its home country of origin, and its host country environments. You should choose a company that is interesting and currently international (meaning that they sell products or services in more than two countries). When analyzing the firms home country, do not just report facts and figures; analyze them from a companys point of view. For example, how does the countrys size, political system, culture, etc. impact the business context? How do these issues “matter” from the firms perspective? How different is this country from the U.S.? For information about the company you choose, if information is difficult to find or vague, use your best judgment given your knowledge of the company, its culture, and its industry. Although I strongly recommend that you choose a company based in a non-English-speaking country, the company should have its English language homepage (if they do not have an English language homepage, you will probably want to choose another company unless you are fluent in that companys home country language!). You can select a company from an English-speaking country (e.g., Canada, UK, Australia, etc.), but in this case, higher standards will be used to evaluate your global business plan since information regarding your company and home country is readily available and easy to analyze, particularly if you focus on the U.S. market. If you choose a U.S. multinational company, then you will need to select a host country other than the U.S. and write about their global business plan in the host country. In other words, you can write about Apples global business plan in South Korea. After this deadline, no submissions are allowed, and late submissions will result in 0 points for this assignment.

Format and other guidelines:

The global business plan write-up should be 10 – 15 pages (double-spaced with one-inch margins and 12-point font), not including tables, figures, graphs, data, references, and other supplementary material. Appropriate references must be included in the form of footnotes or in-text citations and table of references. Feel free to use any style (e.g., APA, Chicago, etc.) as long as it is consistent in your write-up. In your write-up, please do not omit any components given in the abovementioned structure of the paper. Begin the writing process well in advance and invest sufficient time to write a detailed, complete global business plan. I strongly encourage you to integrate international business theories youve learned in this course in your global business plan. Please do not plagiarize another persons writing work. Your global business plan must be written by you and your team members. Plagiarism will result in 0 points on this assignment.

For MGT 450 students, the structure of the project should include the following topics, but is not limited to these issues:

  10. Give a brief history of the home country
  11. Describe the home countrys political, economic, and legal environments and the culture.
  12. Describe the home countrys economic development
  13. The host country (a country where the firm invested in or is selling products/services) China
  14. Background information
  15. Give a brief history of the host country
  16. Describe the host countrys political, economic, and legal environments
  17. Describe the host countrys economic development and future growth potential
  18. Describe the host countrys culture and cultural similarities or differences) with the firms home country
  19. Identify the host countrys government regulations related to trade agreements with the firms home country
