Must include: A brief summary Your interpretation of themes Evaluation of animation and storytelling Personal reflection or recommendation Option 3: TikTok / Instagram Reel (6090 seconds) Create a short, creative video critique for a social media audience. Use captions, effects, or voiceover to make your analysis clear. Must include: A brief summary or hook A claim or opinion A visual or verbal analysis (theme, animation, or emotion) A concluding thought or rating Option 4: Slideshow with Voiceover (46 slides) Create a Google Slides or PowerPoint presentation. Add voiceover (or speaker notes) walking through your critique. Slides should include: Title and short summary Analysis of theme and symbolism Evaluation of techniques Final thoughts Requirements (All Formats/Options) Regardless of format, make sure your critique covers: Summary What happens? Interpretation What does it mean? Evaluation Was it effective? Why or why not? Technique How do elements like sound, animation, style, and pacing support the message? Do not use any kind of generative AI for this (or any) assignment. If a tool suggests words for you, it is prohibited. MS Word’s basic spellcheck is fine. No attempt to demonstrate understanding or entirely off-topic. Depth of Critique / Insight (40 pts) Deep, thoughtful, and original critique; analyzes meaning and impact. Solid critique with some insight; may lack depth or originality. Superficial or general critique; limited analysis. Lacks insight; mostly summary or unsupported opinion. No meaningful critique; does not engage with the film or prompt. Use of Specific Examples (30 pts) Multiple clear, relevant, and detailed examples effectively support points. Some specific examples, though less detailed or relevant. Few or vague examples; limited support for points. Little or no examples; not clearly related to critique. No examples provided. Creativity and Clarity in Chosen Format (10 pts) Creative, engaging presentation; ideas are clear and effective. Clear and organized with some creativity. Somewhat unclear or disorganized; lacks creativity. Unclear, confusing, or lacks effort in presentation. No effort to adapt to chosen format or not submitted.
