Family engagement event planning

Part 5: Sharing Event (Planning-Based) Planning and Reflecting on Family Engagement (NAEYC 6c, 6d, 6e)

Objective: To demonstrate understanding of family partnership and event planning through the design of a hypothetical or planned family engagement event.

Instructions:

Develop a plan for a Sharing Event where families would view the Community Family Tree and celebrate the classrooms diversity. Include a description of the events goals, proposed schedule, setting, and how families would be invited to participate. Identify at least one virtual alternative, such as a slideshow, digital gallery, or recorded presentation.

Create a looping slideshow or sample digital presentation highlighting student engagement in the project (real or mock-up).

Reflect on how this event, if implemented, would foster inclusion, belonging, and family partnership.

You do not need to host the event; the focus is on demonstrating thoughtful, developmentally appropriate planning.

Submission Requirements:

Event plan (12 pages) describing your goals, logistics, and family involvement.

Slideshow or sample visual presentation.

Save for portfolio inclusion.
