Overview: This final project is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice. You will submit one document (PDF or Word) consisting of two distinct parts. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your growth from an event “fan” to a professional event “producer.” Part 1: Professional Reflection (1 Page | 50 Points) Write a cohesive narrative (not a bulleted list) addressing the following: Identify 23 specific concepts from the text or supplemental materials (e.g., technical riders, risk mitigation, or contract law) that are the most valuable concepts learned and shifted your perspective. How has your understanding of live events changed? (i.e., When you look at a stage now, what do you see that you didnt see 8 weeks ago?) How will these concepts serve you in your future career? Tip: Use professional language. Go back and review assignment feedback throughout the course. Part 2: Application (at least 1-2 pages) – 50 pts. Choose ONE of the following options: Option A: Revised Concept Snapshot. Look back at your Week 2 project. Based on what you learned about technical production (Week 3) or budgeting (Week 5), describe one specific technical or financial improvement you would make to ensure the event is feasible. Option B: ROS Segment. For the event you have been following and developing since Week 2, draft a 46 line segment of a Run-of-Show (ROS). This must include columns for Time, Item/Activity, Audio/Visual Cues, and Responsible Party. Option C: Vendor Recommendation. Recommend a specific vendor type (e.g., a Lead AV Firm or a Talent Agency) for a high-end corporate gala. Justify why this vendor type is critical to the productions success using criteria from our Vendor Evaluation Matrix. Submission Requirements Length: 23 pages total. Voice: Third-Person Only. (Avoid “I,” “me,” or “my.” Use “The producer,” “The student,” or “The event planner.”) A quick way to check work certain words, use the “Find” feature (Ctrl+F) in Word to search for “I ” or “my.” If it shows up, they need to rewrite! Citations: At least one APA-formatted in-text citation and a corresponding reference list at the end. (Hint: You can use your Lee & Goldblatt, or even the textbook for HTEM 250 if are enrolled in or have completed the course).
