Your Full Rough Draft should include each of the following requirements: At least three full pages A solid essay structure – See Essay Structure for Essay 1 ( ) and the “EXTRA” documents ( ) (these offer additional models to guide you): 1 An introduction with summary and thesis statement 2 Three or more well-developed body paragraphs, each beginning with a clear topic sentence 3 A conclusion 4 A Works Cited page that begins at the top of the next page after your conclusion Accurate quoting and citing Proper integration and citation of all quotes – See my Canvas lecture ( ) that goes over this. Proper formatting – Be sure to format each draft you submit in this class after the manner you see in the document How To Format Your Essays in ENGL C1000 ( ). These requirements aside, please don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good. The goal with the Rough Draft is to get complete sentences and paragraphs onto the page. It is expected that this will be a rough draft, not a perfect draft. After you submit your Rough Draft, you will still have nearly a full week to revise it and make it as strong and as solid as can be.
