Discussion Week 2
- In this discussion, we will explore the impact of cultural diversity on healthcare and leadership. Share an experience or scenario where you encountered cultural considerations in your nursing practice or leadership role. Discuss how concepts like diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging played a role in this situation. Evaluate the use of principles of acculturation, cultural sensitivity, and cultural diversity in addressing the issue.
- Next, let’s analyze health disparities and inequities in healthcare. Identify specific examples of health disparities you are aware of and discuss what nurses can do to minimize them. Consider both individual and societal factors contributing to these disparities. How can a diverse workforce contribute to the care of a diverse patient population?
