Gender Identity Dysphoria (GID) is a psychological disorder (DSM-5) that children are diagnosed with when they feel that they are of the wrong sex. It is observed by a child having a preference for the opposite sex clothes, toys, activities, etc. With your understanding of Kohlbergs cognitive theory of gender development, speak on any of the following:

Do you feel that this is a valid psychological disorder in children? Can GID be diagnosed this early in the childs life? Thoughts on hormone therapy to hold back puberty? Do you feel that it should be treated? Discuss your opinion on this matter. Remember to be sensitive to language and your classmates’ opinions that may differ from your own.

Remember when posting your opinions to support them (cite) with information that is considered academic, scientific, and unbiased.
