Critical Analysis

What is critical analysis? An analysis of the facts of a piece of literature, documentary, information, movie, etc. What is the significance of the information? The writer analyzes the evidence and arguments in order to support a rational evaluation of the facts. Critical thinking increases ones ability to interpret and evaluate information in a logical manner in an effort to determine right or wrong; or to come up with a logical conclusion for making a decision. Critical thinking makes connections between ideas in order to get a better understanding of the larger structure, in this case the American society. Half page for summary

For example: You may formulate a thesis or argument and bring it to a logical conclusion. For example, how do logical ideas about the treatment of Blacks during the Jim Crow era help one to understand their present status in the American society. Your critical thinking will be evaluated based on aspects of your interpretation and application of the literature as it relates to inequality and social justice in the American society; and the status of the group you selected in the U.S. Also, reflect on your own biases regarding ethnocentrism and cultural relativity. What specific aspect of the research helped you to understand your own stereotypes and biases as you moved through the literature viewing other cultural family patterns?
