Instructions

Final Project Submit work in the Submissions file.

  2. Investigate the existing body of knowledge related to the topic finding at least 3 scholarly sources related to your topic;
  3. Relate your findings to the topics covered as part of the course;
  4. Describe a scenario where the topic area you choose can be practically applied (e.g. in a fictitious or real company or organization) and then;
  5. Apply your new topic knowledge to your created scenario.
  6. Submit your work in the Submissions file.

IMPORTANT: Topic areas must be approved by the instructor. The assignment due date is by the end of week 10. ALL work must be submitted by the due date to be eligible for any points.

As a general comment, please become acquainted with the requirements for writing academic papers, APA formatting, using references and citations, grammar and building an academic argument. A portion of your grade on this assignment will be based on your level of APA compliance.

General Paper Guidelines

Your paper should be at least 4 to 5 pages long, with a word count of 750 words or more, not including the cover page, references, etc. In business you need to get to the points to be made and the recommendations. Wordy, non-essential text is seldom rewarded. Use APA formatting for the text, margins, line spacing, etc. This means 1-inch margins all around, 12-pt type and double spacing (just to get you started).

Look at the following sites for information about APA formatting guidelines.

– for help with in-text citations and references

– great general APA formatting summary sheet (Cheat Sheet).

Use the following section heading flow to get you started:

  • Cover sheet
  • Introduction and overview of the topic
  • Relationship of your topic to the rest of the class topics (make sure to tie this back to the reading material or topics we discussed)
  • Practical application of your topic to a created scenario (e.g. a fictitious company)
  • Describe the scenario briefly
  • Describe how your topic applies to this scenario
  • In some detail describe how you would apply your topic and findings on risk management in relation to the topic would apply to the scenario
  • How helpful would your topic be in managing risk for your scenario?
  • Reflection on your topic and this project
  • Conclusion
  • Submit work in the Submissions file.

You are encouraged to pick a topic area that has practical relevance to your studies, your future career or industry, or your current work. I hope that the work you put into this paper is something you can reference to support your career aspirations. You have worked all quarter to have the background to complete this assignment. Have fun putting it all to work!
