This Signature Assignment fulfills the Masters of Organizational Leadership Program Learning Outcome #5: Collaboration. Learning Outcome #5, Collaboration states: Evaluate personal competencies in collaboration and teaming.

Be sure to review all rubric criteria prior to submitting your assignment.

Directions

Step 1: This Collaboration Analysis Paper is your analysis of your experience and the Collaboration dynamics that occurred during and throughout this course. This assignment is an analysis of your experience on this team and teams that you have been involved in the past. This is an individual assignment, and not completed as a team.

Step 2: Use the questions below to help guide and create outline for this analysis on collaboration. Be sure to cite your sources and properly cite your ideas using the APA writing standards.

  • What is collaboration? Provide a personal experience as well as a formal definition.
  • Team Development Stages: Identify the developmental stages of teams and provide evidence of each.
  • Team Roles: Was there evidence of team roles? What roles were evident? What role did you play? Do you have a history of taking-up this role? Explain.
  • Decision Making: How did your team make decisions? What factors influenced the team decision-making process? How did the pace or process of decision making occur? Give examples.
  • Conflict: How did your team deal with or confront conflict? What techniques did you and your team use to manage conflict? Give examples.
  • Trust: Was there trust established within your team? Why or why not? What factors were present or missing that impacted the level of team trust?

Step 3: Your paper should be structured as follows:

  • 5-7 pages
  • Title page (not included in the page count)
  • Introduction (.5 to 1 page): Within your introduction, you should address the concept of collaboration and team leadership and outline the structure of your paper.
  • Application (2 to 3 pages): Clearly identify and discuss specific personal team experiences in regards to ‘best practices that can be used to address and improve personal team leadership and team collaboration behaviors now and in the future.
  • Analysis (2-3 pages): Answer all of the questions listed in Step 2. As you answer the questions, apply critical thinking skills and reference the course text, while incorporating at least three additional scholarly sources (such as readings from the course).
  • Conclusion (.5 page): Evaluate and synthesize information to draw valid conclusions supported by findings in the readings. Do not introduce any new thoughts or ideas in your conclusion.
  • Reference Page: (not included in the page count): Include course text article and at least three additional scholarly sources.

Format

The final deliverable will be 5-7 pages of content in a double-spaced paper, presented in an MS Word document format. Please use proper APA Standards formatting and referencing, and use Times New Roman size 12 font.
