This assignment requires you to submit a detailed outline of your Capstone Project/Policy Report. The purpose is to help you organize your ideas, structure your arguments, identify gaps in your research, and ensure alignment with the required components of the final paper. Using the required structure of the Capstone Project/Policy Report, as outlined in the ‘Overview of Capstone Project’ document in the Week 1 Module, create a detailed, full-sentence outline of your paper that includes all seven major sections. Your outline should show the logical flow of your argument and how you will incorporate research into each part of the report, by including in-text citations throughout the outline. Required Sections to Include in the Outline Title Page Proposed title of your report. Executive Summary State the central problem and your proposed solution. Briefly mention why the current policy is failing and what action is needed. Context and Importance of the Problem Describe the issue or problem. Include evidence about root causes. Identify who is impacted and why this matters now. Incorporate at least two criminological theories (e.g., strain theory, labeling theory, social disorganization, deterrence theory, etc.) to help frame or explain the problem. Include in-text citations for at least 2 sources you plan to use here. Pre-Existing Policies, Policy Alternatives, and Research Describe current policies or strategies addressing this issue. Evaluate their effectiveness using evidence. Discuss at least two alternative policies and how they compare. Integrate at least 3 scholarly sources into this section. Conclusion Summarize your findings. Reinforce the importance of addressing the issue. Policy Recommendations Clearly list specific, realistic actions or changes you recommend. Briefly justify each recommendation using evidence. References Page (APA format) Include a list of at least 810 scholarly sources you plan to use in the paper. Use proper APA 7th edition formatting. ***You should provide thorough in-text citations throughout the entirety of your Outline. All information that is not common knowledge should be followed by an in-text citation.
