Introduction:

Objective:

This project requires you to conduct a comprehensive strategic and financial analysis of a publicly traded company. The goal is to evaluate how the company creates and sustains value across multiple business functions, including leadership, strategy, marketing, operations, HR, supply chain, and finance.

Completion Instructions:

Deliverables:

  • A 2500-word report, either in Microsoft Word or PDF file format. This is a soft limit and you may exceed the limit if needed. The word count does not include the executive summary, any tables/figures, references, and appendices.
  • Appendices (financial analysis, strategy models, charts, etc.)

Guidelines:

  • Select a publicly traded company (U.S. or international). You will need to pick a firm by end of Week 2.
  • Use a mix of course materials, public filings (10-Ks), investor reports, and any other relevant academic sources.
  • Demonstrate synthesis across business functions, not isolated functional analysis.

Project Components:

  1. Company & Industry Overview: Provide a profile of the company (mission, history, market position) and its industry dynamics.
  2. Leadership & Ethics Evaluation: Analyze the company’s leadership approach and assess how it addresses ethical responsibilities and corporate governance.
  3. Strategic Frameworks & AI Integration: Evaluate the firms corporate and business strategies. Discuss how AI or digital tools are shaping its strategy.
  4. Human Capital & Organizational Strategy: Assess the company’s HR practices and culture. Discuss strategic HRM initiatives, workforce trends, and inclusion efforts.
  5. Marketing & Consumer Strategy: Analyze marketing strategies used to engage customers. Highlight the use of technology, AI, and demographic targeting.
  6. Operations Strategy & Performance: Evaluate how the company manages its operations (e.g., production, quality, efficiency). Identify any innovations or areas for improvement.
  7. Supply Chain Management: Describe the companys supply chain strategy. Analyze how it addresses resilience, sustainability, and agility.
  8. Financial Analysis & Valuation: Review recent financial performance using financial statements. Conduct a ratio analysis and basic DCF valuation.
  9. Integrated Strategic Insight: Synthesize findings to offer a holistic view of how the company sustains value creation and competitiveness.
