This workshop indicates that the term business environment encompasses a number of factors that either help or hinder the development of a business. The five key elements to business success are: economic influences, political and legal influences, demographic factors, social factors, and technology (Gitman et al., 2018). Businesses that operate in the United States generally have a favorable business environment. In some other parts of the world, businesses are not as fortunate. The environment in which a business operates is crucial to the success of a business. Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to: Examine how the five key elements of the business environment impact businesses’ growth and job creation. Discover business-specific writing through the Business Writing Fundamentals modules. Background Information This week, you will be introduced to and will begin completing the Business Writing Fundamentals module. At various points within the course, youll be instructed to review specific sections of the module before completing a business writing assignment. The module is designed to help you to write business communications such as emails, letters, and technical reports to help ensure your communications clearly convey the message and purpose using proper grammar and punctuation. As you work through this module, it is important that you complete the short exercises and quizzes at the end of each section. You will not receive a grade for completing these quizzes and short exercises. However, you must complete the short exercises and pass all the quizzes for the assigned sections in this course. You will be able to take the quiz as many times as needed until you pass. You will complete the remaining sections of the module in subsequent courses. After you have completed all of the module sections, quizzes, and short exercises and achieve at least an 80% on the final exam (taken as the last step in the module), you will receive a completion certificate! Throughout your program of study, you will be reminded to upload selected business communications into your ePortfolio. If you receive an 80% or higher on these writing assignments, you will be awarded a Business Fundamentals Writing badge in the last course of your program! Both the certificate of completion and business writing fundamentals badge may be shared on your LinkedIn profile as well as with future employers! Once you have registered for this module, you will have access to it throughout your program of study as well as after you have completed your program. Instructions Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade. Read Chapter 1 of Introduction to Business, focusing on Section 1.2 (new tab). Complete or review lessons 1-20 of Business Writing Fundamentals (new tab). Review the Anatomy of an Email PDF (PDF document). Watch this video before completing the assignment: The Ultimate Guide to PESTLE Analysis for Strategic Decision Making (new tab) Using a Word document, write a sample business email to a work colleague describing all five key factors of a Business Environment and how these impact your business. Choose one key factor and go into more detail explaining how this would benefit your business. Format the email as if it were a recap of a meeting where you discussed five key elements of the business environment that impact businesses’ growth and job creation. Be sure to follow the template in the Anatomy of an Email. If you do not have work colleagues, you may make one up to write the email. Section 4 of the Peregrine Business Writing Module addresses how to write a business email. The email should follow standard business email format and be comprehensive enough that someone will understand the key factors without reading the chapter in the course materials.
