Mini bibliographic review (3 to 4 pages)
Purpose of the assignment
This document introduces students to:
IntegratingClassic and modern research on the EAB
Tracking the evolution of a principle of behavior
Move from summary synthesis conceptual analysis
Building the foundations for the literature review of the final project
This is not an article summary task.
It is a task of analysis of integration and evolution.
Required structure (3 to 4 pages, APA 7)
I. Introduction (1 page)
Required elements:
Clearly define the selected topic within EAB
(E.g., correspondence law, behavioral impulse, stimulus equivalence, avoidance, delay discount, motivating operations, etc.)
Explain why the topic is important for experimental behavior analysis.
Please indicate the purpose of the review:
II. Classic fundamentals (11.5 pages)
Requirements:
Summarize 23 classical experimental studies
Fundamental JEAB research is preferred
It must be directly relevant to the selected principle
Describe:
Participants
Experimental design
Key findings
The principle demonstrated
III. Modern Extension (1 page)
Requirements:
Include at least one modern empirical study (post-2000)
Explain:
How the principle has evolved
Whether the findings replicated, expanded or challenged early investigations
New methodological approaches (e.g., behavioral economics, translational models)
IV. Integration and critical analysis (1 page)
Required elements:
Summarize all studies, do not summarize again.
ADDRESS:
How the understanding of the principle has changed
Limitations in the first investigations
Methodological changes (for example, from simple programs to economic models)
Conceptual implications for behavioral science
V. Brief conclusion ( page)
Summarize the key conceptual points
State implications for:
Experimental research
The cumulative nature of ABA as a science
Avoid introducing new studies here
Origin requirements
Minimum:
23 classic sources (e.g., foundational studies of the JEAB)
1 modern empirical source
Total: 34 peer-reviewed sources
The textbook alone is not enough.
Format requirements
34 full pages (not including the title page or references)
APA 7 format
Double space
Times New Roman 12 points
