Primary Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 500700 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.
For this Discussion Board, please complete the following:
So far, two approaches have been applied to support the persistence of XML data-the native XML database (NXD) and extending the existing DBMS such as a relational DBMS to support XML. Each approach has its own pros and cons.
Study the relevant content in the course materials and investigate the Library and Internet for these two approaches of implementing XML persistence as needed. Then, conduct the following tasks:
- Examine the 2 approaches in your own words, and then compare their pros and cons.
- Provide your thoughts on which approach should be used under what situation or type of application. Use specific examples in your discussion.

The Web as a platform for database systems has brought both merits and challenges to business and consumers of the products and services produced by the business. Study the relevant content in the course materials and investigate the Library and Internet for the definitions and functions of the Web and the requirements for Web-DBMS integration as needed. Then, conduct the following tasks:
- Establish at least five advantages and five disadvantages for Web-DBMS integration. Point out the main reason for each item.
- Provide your thoughts on what could be the best approach to integrate Web and DBMS for a given company.
